MA_Julius is the minimalist and unisex diffusion line of the Julius label, founded in Tokyo in 2001 by Tatsuro Horikawa. Initially focused on presenting film projects but later expanding to a clothing line in 2004, the label's signature style is centered around black and gray color schemes used as symbols of madness and pain. Horikawa's love of art and architecture has been integral to the formation of the label, and this influence is reflected in its avant-garde silhouettes and minimalist aesthetic. MA_Julius places a strong focus on basic pieces and military-influenced utilitarian design. The label's dark mood and avant-garde style are still present in the diffusion line but are translated into more basic forms, offering a unique take on minimalism and utilitarian fashion.
