For Undercover's Autumn/Winter 2007 'Knit' collection, Jun Takahashi experimented with various styles manipulating sporty knits, tracksuits, and shorts over wool tights and knitted dresses with sheered elements. Stating "You can't tell whether a winter's going to be warm or freezing," Takahashi mixed light and heavy materials to create garments that could theoretically withstand any weather condition, thus creating a collection inspired by the unpredictable weather effects of global warming.
This top from Undercover’s Autumn/Winter 2007 ‘Knit’ collection features an eye-catching hybrid design that consists of an array of materials such as pleated wool, knit shoulders, and sheer arms. This garment's sleek and clean construction consisting of unusually paired textiles serves as another perfect example of AW07's innovative use of contrasting materials.
