In his early twenties, Katayama moved to Tokyo and worked for a leather bag manufacturer. Through extensive work and an ever-evolving love for leather-works, Isamu Katayama would transfer his skills over to his own brand ‘Isamu Katayama Backlash’ which was founded in 1999. Superior craftsmanship and materials of the highest quality excelled Backlash to the top, considered by many as the leading leather brand in Japan.
