Influenced by the works of former assistant and fellow designer Jun Takahashi of Undercover, for his Spring/Summer 2006 collection, Junya Watanabe wanted to break the boundaries of the ordinary veering away from the increasingly minimal designs of the time by composing an over-the-top collection full of heavy-stomping combat boots paired with ripped crochet leggings, distressed leather, and repurposed tour t-shirts – a collection inspired by the Japanese punk band Mad Capture Maggots. 

Here we have an eye-catching tank top from Junya Watanabe’s Spring/Summer 2006 collection. Boasting a punk-inspired band tee design reminiscent of the collections various themes, this piece features an elegantly faded grim reaper graphic with an array of idioms screen-printed onto a high-quality 100% Japanese cotton garment.
