Number (N)ine’s Autumn/Winter 2006 ready-to-wear collection pays homage to Celtic punk rock and the bands that pioneered the genre such as The Dubliners, The Skids, and The Pogues. Takahiro Miyashita dedicated this collection to Shane MacGowan (lead singer/songwriter of The Pogues) by including various traces of Celtic symbolism throughout many of the pieces of the collection and exclusively playing hit songs by The Pogues while models made their way down the runway at Number (N)ine’s ‘Noir’ show.

Here we have an eye-catching t-shirt from Number (N)ine’s AW06 ready-to-wear collection. This piece features a bold skull motif on the back of the garment and a subtle four-leaf clover motif on the chest – both of which are in the traditional Celtic knot style that symbolizes unity and eternal spiritual life. Boasting an elegantly faded gray colorway, this piece is yet another example of Miyashita’s extensive ideology that goes into every single garment he produces.
