Takahiro Miyashita’s AW05 collection with Number (N)ine is inspired by Miyashita’s rock band ‘The High Streets’. The group is comprised of guitarist Naoyuki Hisanaga, bassist Shinichiro Togawa, drummer Yoshishi Moro, and Takahiro Miyashita as the frontman filling the vocal and rhythm guitar spot. Takahiro Miyashita and Naoyuki Hisanaga started collaborating out of their mutual love and respect for rock music. The High Street’s music has been described as, not surprisingly, a mix of grunge, punk, and the Beatles. It has also been said that the music is a glimpse of the spiritual world hidden in the design and works of Miyashita. They released their first studio album “6 SONGS” in April 2006. The record starts aggressively with its opening track “Last Days”, characterized by its reverberating guitars and Miyashita screaming very direct and self-deprecating lyrics on the chorus. The beginning of this track sounds similar to Nirvana’s “School”, which coincidentally was the first track used in the AW05 runway show.
Here we have a sick t-shirt from Number (N)ine’s AW05 “The High Streets” ready-to-wear collection. This piece features a ‘THS’ acronym motif on the left chest and a bold ‘The High Streets’ script logo on the back of the garment. Tees from this collection also feature instances of light distressing along the neckline, hem, and sleeves. Boasting an imposing red colorway, you can’t go wrong with this simple, yet eye-catching t-shirt from Number (N)ine’s AW05 collection.
