Number (N)ine’s Autumn/Winter 2002 collection entitled “Nowhere Man” is heavily inspired by English musician & lead guitarist of the Beatles, George Harrison. The collection's name is derived from one of the Beatles hit songs “Nowhere Man” off their 1965 album Rubber Soul. Praised by many as Number (N)ine’s best collection in terms of quality, unique use of design, and aesthetic cohesion overall, Takahiro Miyashita experiments with muted colors, fine materials, and references the Bohemian nomadic lifestyle fused with that signature Number (N)ine cowboy flare we see time and time again.
Here we have an incredible long sleeve from Number (N)ine’s AW02 collection. This piece features an eye-catching Nordic tribal pattern motif sweeping across the front neckline of the garment, consisting of a hybrid between screen-printing and embossed velvet. Its muted color palette and detailing create a unique piece unlike anything else from one of Number (N)ine’s greatest collections.
