Number (N)ine’s SS07 “About A Boy” collection takes Takahiro Miyashita’s love for both Kurt Cobain & Johnny Cash and fuses them to create a collection of pieces that boast a rock ‘n’ roll outlaw aesthetic patented by Miyashita’s expertise of design. This collection veers away from the usual darker themes and focuses on tailored garments washed into faded earth tones and worn softness. It is said that Miyashita’s main ideology for SS07 was to reimagine the life of Kurt Cobain as a cowboy-inspired by Johnny Cash (hence the easygoing tune of Cash on the collection’s soundtrack). Takahiro Miyashita implies this was his favorite collection with Number (N)ine and it has grown to become one of my favorites as well!

Here we have an eye-catching tee from Number (N)ine’s SS07 “About A Boy” collection. This piece features a “Verse Chorus Verse” motif which references the unreleased live album by Nirvana, once scheduled for release on November 1, 1994. – This double album was comprised of various live performances including Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged performance. To fit the cowboy aesthetic of SS07, Miyashita incorporated a revolver and rope to spell out the motif. This 100% cotton tee is a great representation of one of Takahiro Miyashita’s greatest collections with Number (N)ine.
